Luke Redd is a native-born Coloradan. He first began painting and drawing as a very young child, and later went on to develop his talents in school.

In high school, Luke caused quite a stir with his artwork while a part of the Advanced Placement Art program. His artwork was considered to be too emotional and provocative by school district administrators and his school principal. Luke's subject matter at the time focused primarily on social injustices and his emotional reaction to them. Luke was, however, supported by all of his teachers and peers, and ultimately graduated with honors in the top ten of his class.

Luke briefly attended the University of Colorado at Boulder for a year where he studied painting, the theater, and environmental design. Luke then attended and graduated from The Colorado Institute of Art where his main focus of study was in illustration and graphic design.

For three years, Luke worked as a contracted graphic designer within U S WEST and as part of a Xerox team. Feeling the office politics and frenzy of corporate America to be unsuited to his personality, Luke started working on his own. Luke now paints custom portraits on commission, builds websites, does some occasional graphic design work, and is now in the process of selling prints of some his more popular original paintings.

Luke Redd's philosophy is one of freedom, peace, love, and communication. Luke strives to learn and apply the basic principles of freedom that allow the human spirit to achieve its utmost potential.
